The Holidays End, but Our Stories Don’t!
Samuel:
Hi everyone! It’s me, Samuel, writing from Munich. I just got back, and I already miss Addis Ababa so much! Ella, I keep thinking about all the cool things we did together, but the best part was Easter Sunday with our big family. There were aunts and uncles everywhere, Grandpa telling funny stories, and cousins running all around the house! It felt like the world’s biggest family party.
And the food—wow! We all squeezed around the table, laughing and eating and trying to see who could grab the last piece. I wish every day could be Easter with you and everyone!
Ella:
Hi Samuel! I miss you already. I keep thinking about how much fun we had—especially on Easter! It was so cool having you at our house with all our family. Remember how we made the funniest faces and tried to copy each other’s silly moves? And all those selfies we took—some of them are hilarious! I can’t stop laughing when I look at them.
Samuel:
Those selfies are the best! But I had so much fun those last two weeks. While you were super busy being the smartest kid at school and doing your exams, I got to go to Tiny Town with your brothers. It was new for all of us! We played soccer, made up crazy roleplay games, and had wild car races. I think we pretended to be race car drivers and superheroes all at once!
Ella:
I was so jealous! But as soon as my exams were done, we celebrated together. Our day at GAST Mall was awesome—playing laser tag was like being in a real-life video game, and we jumped so much on the trampoline I thought we might touch the ceiling! I was a little scared in the mirror maze, but you guided me through like a real explorer. That was my favorite part.
Samuel:
That was epic! And then came Entoto Kids Eco Playcenter, which is like a playground from a storybook. We played chess and tic-tac-toe, tried out all the fun games, and ran around the twisty serpentines in Zoma Village until we were out of breath. I felt like we were on a wild treasure hunt!
Ella:
You always find the best games, Samuel! And your trip to Hawassa sounded so cool. Even though you didn’t see hippos, you saw lots of monkeys, right? And you kept telling me about the boat rides and your new favorite ice cream shop—Tasso – Italian Icecream. Three scoops of lemon ice cream in a row? That must be a world record!
Samuel:
Lemon ice cream is the best! But honestly, my favorite memory is just being with you—hanging out, playing games, and making everyone laugh. I wish holiday time could last forever! But at least we still have our silly video calls and stories to share.
Ella:
Yes! And to everyone reading—have you ever had a family holiday this fun? Tell us your favorite family adventures or what we should do next time Samuel visits Addis!
